To verify the effect of increasing rates of glyphosate (0, 720, 1,400, 2,160, 2,880 and 3,600 g ha -1 ) in the control of Commelina benghalensis and Commelina diffusa in the flowering stage, an experiment was installed in a randomized block design with six replications. Plants were grown in polyethylene boxes, in unprotected environment. The treatment efficacy was evaluated in five times (25, 46, 63 e 88 e 111 DAT - days after treatments), by the percentage of weed control related to the controll treatment (no herbicide). Under the conditions of this experiment, glyphosate provided an excellent control ( > 91% ) of C. benghalensis starting from 720 g ha -1 , 25 DAT. However, over 60 DAT, excellent control of C. diffusa was only achieved with glyphosate rate starting from 2.880 g ha -1 .
