POTENCIAL PRODUTIVO INICIAL DE CULTIVARES DE CAFEEIRO RESISTENTES A FERRUGEM EM TRÊS REGIÕES DE MINAS GERAIS

Abstract

A cafeicultura é uma importante atividade do agronegócio brasileiro, gerando muitos empregos diretos e indiretos e respondendo por boa parte das exportações desse setor. A disponibilização de cultivares resistentes à ferrugem (Hemileia vastatrix Berk. et Br.) tem sido um constante desafio para os melhoristas, visto que a ferrugem é a principal doença do cafeeiro e está, atualmente, presente em todas as regiões cafeeiras do mundo O objetivo desse trabalho foi caracterizar o desenvolvimento vegetativo e reprodutivo de cultivares de cafeeiro resistente à ferrugem em diferentes ambientes. O experimento foi conduzido, em quatro locais dentro do Estado de Minas Gerais, com delineamento experimental em blocos casualizados, com três repetições e parcelas constituídas por dez plantas.Avaliou- se 25 cultivares, sendo 22 pertencentes ao grupo das resistentes à ferrugem, com implantação em dezembro de 2005. Analisou-se as seguintes características: produção média de duas safras, percentagem de frutos chochos e vigor vegetativo.Os resultados obtidos pode-se concluir que: as cultivares resistentes à ferrugem apresentam um alto potencial produtivo inicial nos locais de Lavras, Campos Altos e Patrocínio e o ambiente de cultivo interfere no desempenho da planta sendo um ponto importante a ser analisado na recomendação de uma cultivar.

The coffee is an important activity of Brazilian agribusiness, generating many direct and indirect jobs and accounting for much of the exports in this sector. The availability of cultivars resistant to rust (Hemileia vastatrix BerK et Br.) has been a constant challenge to plant breeders, since the rust became the major disease of coffee and is currently present in the all regions of the world coffee. The objective of this work was to characterize the reproductive and vegetative development of rust resistant coffee plant cultivars under different enviornments. The experiment was carried out, in four places of the State of Minas Gerais, in a random block experimental layout in, with three repetitions and parcels made up of ten plants. 25 cultivars were evaluated, 22 belonging to the rust resistant group, with implantation in December of the 2005 . We analyzed the following characteristics: average yield of two crops, percentage of fruit hollow and plant vigor. The results can be concluded that rust resistant cultivars have a high productive potential initial in Lavras, Campos Altos and Patrocínio and of the growth environment affects the performance of the plant being a point important to be examined in the recommendation of a cultivar.
