DESENVOLVIMENTO VEGETATIVO DO CAFEEIRO (COFFEA ARÁBICA L.) cv CATUAÍ CULTIVADO EM DIFERENTES ESPAÇAMENTOS COM E SEM IRRIGAÇÃO

Abstract

Devido a carências de informações relacionadas ao manejo da irrigação, instalou-se um experimento no município Mococa-SP com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito da irrigação em diferentes espaçamentos no desenvolvimento vegetativo do cafeeiro, Coffea arabica L. cv Catuaí. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso, com os tratamentos distribuídos em esquema fatorial 6 x 2, com seis repetições, sendo seis densidades de plantio, E1 (1,60 x 0,50), E2 (1,60 x 0,75), E3 (1,60 x 1,00), E4 (3,20 x 0,50), E5 (3,20 x 0,75) e E6 (3,20 x 1,00), divididas em irrigadas (I) e não irrigadas (NI). Os dados biométricos foram submetidos à análise de variância e as médias comparadas entre si pelo teste de Tukey a 5% probabilidade. Com os resultados das três análises realizadas ao longo do ano de 2008, foram realizadas as curvas de crescimento e desenvolvimento da copa de cada tratamento. A irrigação promoveu um maior crescimento e diâmetro de copa das plantas em relação ao sistema não irrigado. O maior desenvolvimento das plantas ocorreu após a colheita, fazendo com que as plantas de café irrigadas tivessem uma maior formação dos fatores de produção. Verificou-se uma maior altura das plantas com o aumento na densidade de plantas.

Due to the lack of information related to the management of irrigation, an experiment was carried out in Mococa-SP aiming at evaluating the effect of irrigation at different spacing regimes in the vegetative development of coffee tree, Coffea arabica L. cv Catuaí. The experimental design was a randomized block, with treatments divided in a 6 x 2 factorial scheme, with six repetitions and six densities of plantation, E1 (1.60 x 0.50), E2 (1.60 x 0.75), E3 (1.60 x 1.00), E4 (3.20 x 0.50), E5 (3.20 x 0.75) and E6 (3.20 x 1.00), divided in irrigated (I) and non-irrigated (NI) group. Biometric data were subjected to the analysis of variance, and the averages were compared through Tukey test at 5% of probability. With the results of the three analyses performed over the year of 2008, the crown growth and development curves of each treatment were performed. Irrigation provided a greater growth and diameter of the plant crowns in comparison with the non-irrigated system. The greatest plant development occurred after the harvesting, which allowed for the irrigated coffee tree to have a greater formation of the production factors. A greater plant height was observed with the spacing reduction.
