Função de produção do café arábica, cultivar Catucaí, sob diferentes lâminas de irrigação

Abstract

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito da irrigação na produção do café (Coffea arabica L.), cultivar Catucaí. O experimento de campo foi realizado no município de Varre-Sai, Região Noroeste Fluminense em café arábica cultivar Catucaí Amarelo, cujo plantio foi realizado em 20/12/96. O espaçamento entre fileiras foi de 2,0 metros e entre plantas 1,0 metro. O sistema de irrigação por gotejamento foi implantado em 15/09/2000. Para avaliar a produção, foram analisados os efeitos das lâminas de irrigação sobre a produtividade (sc ha-1) média do café beneficiado em quatro safras consecutivas. Pelos resultados verificou-se que a irrigação influenciou a produtividade do cafeeiro arábica, cultivar Catucaí, sendo que para os dois anos de alta produtividade a irrigação proporcionou, em média, um acréscimo de 86% a 105% na produtividade. Na média das quatro safras os tratamentos irrigados obtiveram um aumento de 26% a 45% na produtividade em relação ao tratamento sem irrigação. Nas safras de alta produtividade a irrigação proporcionou aumento da produtividade com o incremento da lâmina de água aplicada até certo valor, a partir do qual há decréscimo. A resposta do cafeeiro à irrigação ajustou-se a uma função de segunda ordem, em que a produtividade máxima estimada foi de 69 sc ha-1 de café beneficiado com a lâmina de água aplicada de 667 mm.

The present work had as objective to evaluate the effect of the irrigation in the production of the coffee (Coffea arabica L.), cultivar Catucaí. The field experiment was accomplished in the city Varre-Sai, Rio de Janeiro, in coffee cultivar Catucaí Amarelo, planted in 20/12/96. The spacing between rows was of 2,0 meters and between plants 1,0 meter. The irrigation system was implanted in 15/09/2000. The production was evaluated analyzing the effects of the irrigation on the productivity (sc ha-1) average of the coffee benefited in four consecutive harvests. For the results it was verified that the irrigation influenced the productivity of the arabic coffee plant, cultivar Catucaí, and for the two years of high productivity the irrigation proportioned, on average, an increment from 86% to 105% in the productivity. In the average of the four harvests the irrigated treatments obtained an increase from 26% to 45% in the productivity in relation to the treatment without irrigation. In the harvests of high productivity the irrigation proportioned increase of the productivity with the increment of the applied water even certain value, starting from which there is decrease. The answer of the coffee plant to the irrigation was adjusted to a function of second order, in that the estimated maximum productivity was of 69 sc ha-1 of coffee benefited with the applied water of 667 mm.
