Florescimento da lavoura cafeeira sob diferentes manejos de irrigação

Abstract

Objetivou-se, neste trabalho, avaliar o efeito de diferentes manejos de irrigação no florescimento e pegamento dos frutos de cafeeiros arábica. O estudo foi realizado na área experimental do Departamento de Engenharia da Universidade Federal de Lavras, em cafeeiro da cultivar Acaiá Cerrado MG-1474, plantada no espaçamento 3,00 m x 0,60 m, e irrigada desde o plantio, em 1997, por gotejamento. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados, com 4 repetições e 5 tratamentos de irrigação: A= Sem irrigação; B= Irrigação o ano todo sempre que o teor da água disponível no solo (AD) atingiu 25% da disponibilidade total de água (DTA); C= Irrigação o ano todo sempre que AD< 75% DTA; D= Irrigação o ano todo se em jan./ fev./ mar./ jul./ out./ nov./ dez. a AD< 75% DTA e em abr./ maio/ jun./ ago./ set. se AD< 25% DTA e E= Irrigação em abr./ maio/ jun./ ago./ set. se a AD< 75% DTA. Cada parcela foi composta por 10 plantas, sendo utilizadas 2 plantas para a avaliação de ramificações secundárias, número de flores por floração, número de frutos e pegamento de frutos entre setembro e maio, durante as safras de 2006/2007 e 2007/2008. Os tratamentos irrigados não influenciaram significativamente o total de flores, ganho em ramificações e percentual de pegamento de frutos. Comparando os dados das duas safras, verifica-se o efeito da bienalidade da cultura no número total de flores, e no percentual de pegamento de frutos e no ganho em ramificações.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different irrigation managements on flower induction and bloom of coffee trees. The study was carried out at the experimental area of the Engineering Department at Universidade Federal de Lavras, on Acaia Cerrado MG-1474 coffee cultivar, planted 3.0 meters between rows and 0.6 meters between plants and drip irrigated since planting in 1997. The experimental design was randomized blocks with 4 replicates and 5 irrigation treatment: A= non irrigated; B= irrigated throughout the whole year every time the water available was at most 25% of total available water (TAW); C= irrigated during the whole year every time the water available was at most 75% of TAW; D= treatment C during January, February, March, July, October, November and December and treatment B during April, May, June, August and September; E= treatment C during April, May, June, August and September. Each plot was composed of 10 plants and used 2 plants for the evaluation of secondary branches, number of flowers per flowering, number of fruit and fruit set between September and May during the growing seasons of 2006/2007 and 2007/2008. The different irrigation managements did not significantly influence the total number of flowers, number of branches and percentage of flowers that resulted in fruits. Comparing data from two harvests verified the biennial effect in the total number of flowers, percentage of fruit set and branch gain.
